We took French classes for 7 weeks May-June at the Alliance Francaise in Dubai (photo is from our last day). Although class was Saturday mornings from 9-12, it was a great way to begin learning the language. Our teacher, Stephanie (far right) was fantastic, she really made the classes enjoyable and made fun of us for being americains sans health insurance. To practice our broken sentences, we'll be renting a place in France in July and will probably sign up for the classes again in August. Since the beach is now off-limits because of the heat, conjugating verbs is great way to spend the summer months....right?
We went to Bombay to visit the family and see Nikki over Father's Day weekend. It's a real treat to be able to go back and forth from Dubai to India; flights are only about 2.5 hours long and tickets are reasonably priced. We missed the start of the monsoon by about 24 hours, but at least felt a few drops on our way to airport -- my first taste of rain in almost three months!
